I have a 1994 850Turbo with a 3-1-5 and check engine light...

I suspect it is the purge valve, and got myself a used purge valve.

Here comes my problem... The part from my car has a bosch p/n 0280142302 but the part I got has a p/n 0280142300. The place I bought it from told me that it is a newer part and should work on my car. BUT the electrical lead wouldn't fit.

Now, before I start cutting up wires, I do want to ask the wise and knowledgable experts out there... "Will this valve work?"

Sorry about the problem.

No, a new part should fit and the shop probably gave you the wrong part.

This is the parts source that many of us here use often, not sure what the shipping cost would be for Canada:

The part is US$139, and I assume the shop gave you the one for '95-'97 or for non-turbo. What you need is the one for '94-'95 turbo.

WRONG PART (what the shop gave you):
0280142300
Purge Valve (1995-1997 Non Turbo, and all 1996-1997 Turbo Models

Return it for a refund or an exchange.

did try the newer valve, but the car didn't like it

i got an OEM valve, and the problem went away
