That should be an overheat sensor. Most of the replacement ones do not have them.

Tech, I went out an looked at it. the wire that comes off new compressor plugged into one of those wires off that part that is screwed in. what do i put that single wire to if i dont use that part. do i just splice the single one from car to the wire on the compressor .

i actually fig it out there was a plastic cli[p that needed to come off. my only other quest is im trying to get the rubber line form the compressor to the dryer off and it wont come off. is it a reverse thread or something. I have a new dryer so i dont mind getting a new line as long as i can get it fast thanks

They can be a pain to get loose. One other thing to try it set the nut for the line on to the subframe and hit the nut a couple of times with a hammer on the flat spot so you do not mess the nut up.

Never seen a reverse thread line. But all that matters is you got it.
Are you getting power to the wire at the compressor?
Do you have power on both sides of the low pressure switch?

Yes use a test light.
The low pressure switch is in the line just before the evaperator connection at the firewall.
