Default Quick fix for broken dash mounts.

I dont know about you but I really dont want to pull the dash out of my wifes car to fix the broken mounts. I came up with a simple solution that really holds the dash in pretty solid.

Was there a technical reason you need to use torx screws in the dash and phillips into the body?

Seriously, no offense intended at all BoxPin, but that's not cool. Your gonna have a stress concentration at those two mount points; may hold tight for awhile but...

Need to bite the bullet and pull the dash; it's really not that hard. I did it on the S70; really wasn't bad at all (and I hate doing interior work!).

Certainly get points for ingenuity though..

Practically everything I touch in her car just crumbles. It may or may not last but for now we have peace and quiet in the car. Its a bandaid thats for sure but I had to do something.

@kiss - the torx is the oem screw for that spot, I just added the bracket. The other was a self tapper.

God bless you for this one. I've pulled the dashboard on my 850, rebuilt the mounts, screwed everything down tight and it still sounds like there's a coffee can full of bolts in there. I'm going to do this, then pull the glove compartment and glue the door back on so at least that can't rattle anymore. The noise this thing makes drives me nuts.

Life changer! I am enjoying relative silence in my 850 for the first time in two years after spending a half hour doing this job this afternoon. Brilliant.

Is there a way to do that on the S70?
