Default Radiator Fan Issues

Hey.
My radiator fan is refusing to come on at idle and is causing my engine to overheat. Are there any methods I could use to determine whether the fan motor has gone bad or if it is something different?
Thanks for any input!

try jumpering the relay to see if you can get it to kick on. if it kicks on then you should replace the relay. could also be a temp sensor so you may want to measure that as well. does the car have warm start issues?

I use a volt meter to determine where power is going. I always say half of life's problems require a volt meter to solve.

No cold start issues and the Temp gauge in the dashboard works fine. So just use some alligator clamps and wires to bypass the relay and put power directly to the fan motor?

Yep, just shoot 12 volts directly to the motor with jumper wires. That will tell you if the motor is good or not.
