Default Radio help

Ok just like the title says, I just bought the car about two weeks and it just came out of the shop. However the radio is now asking for a code. I called the previous owner and he said he never knew there was a code for the radio. So my question is...is there any way i can reset the code? or do i have to go to a dealership and have them do it?

thank you.

OK, as to the radio code. It is usually kept somewhere within the glove box, such as inside the owner's manual. My radio had it on the radio itself as I pulled out the radio from the dash.

If you cannot find it anywhere, go to a dealer and give them the VIN of your car so they can find the code for you.

Good day, and welcome to the forum.

If you call the Dealership and give them your Vin #. They will be able to give you the Security Code.

We're glad you got it. I mentioned visiting the dealer, because some time ago one person stated that he had to show his photo ID to get the codes at the dealer.

Anyway, problem solved.
