Default real cam seal retainer

quick question guys. l want to know what is the right way to put back the rear cam seal retainer. what will happen is it is not placed back the right way? which is right?
this way?

Here are my instructions:
Cam Seal Replacement, rear, 1998 Volvo S70 GLT - Volvo 850 Cam Seal Replacement

You put it back on the way it came off. You don't time the motor when you do those seals. It will stop where it does and you have to pay attention on how it comes off.

thanks RSPI for the reply. so it does move together with the rear cam? l never knew that.one more question, what will happen if it happens l installed it back wrongly,will the car still run or it wont?thanks

Likely will not run. Then you'll have to pull and re-install it.
