Default Removing srs code

I did the horn fix on my, but I can’t get ride of the srs light with my current code reader. My current code reader doesn’t even show it, nor does it show the service engine light that comes on a S stays for two minutes. Any recommendations on a code reader, or a way to delete these?

All you need is your finger, the code reader is built into the car.

If your car is a 1995 - the srs codes can be read and reset with the OBD1 box under the hood. Same thing with the service light - it can be reset with that interface.

If your car is a 1995 - the OBDII port in the console - offers very little or no information. 1996 was the first year the OBDII port was fully used. In the future you should always disconnect the battery before unplugging an airbag.

Info from here might help (if you have a 92-95 850)

not all code readers support the SRS code set. For the cost of upgrading to a full feature reader that "may" work, you can probably swing by a Volvo dealer or Volvo friendly indy to see if they will scan and reset the code. Another resource to check out is Volvotips.com but that is more for the 95 and earlier models. the 96/97 have an older OBD2 protocol (I think its the ISO9141 spec) so any reader you buy or rent will need to support something prior to CAN.
