Replacing Intercooler on Volvo 850

My 850 is a 96 model with 130K miles. The intercooler is probably as old as the car. IPD USA has an improved version for sale.
Do intercoolers loose efficiency after 10/12 years of use? How easy/difficult it is to replace the intercooler? Can one expect slight improvement in the mileage?

Like it says in there ad, if you are upgrading to a large turbo then yes or course an upgraded ic would be the way to go....just noticing your recent posts...heres a short list of bolt on performance upgrades that would give your car a very nice wake up pulling some pretty nice numbers
Turbo depending on how much power you want id say 16t-18t
good turboback exhaust system
intake pipe and filter
tune ecu
exhaust manifold
intercooler if required
However prior to all of this, do a full stage 0 on your car and makes sure its in top notch shape before you start getting it to pump out more power for you
