The Dye. With either Showroom New or Forever Black.

Should matter what is in the air, it's dye. Just make sure your surface is free from oils.

Also, if you go black you will HAVE TO do the door trim, handles, etc. for it to look complete.

Man, it would be really helpful if someone with a black 850 actually has pics of someone that dyed their grey trim to black.

I'm also contemplating about tinting the windows and with the trim dyed black, I'm afraid the car wagon will come out really really dark lol..

It will look real good as long as you don't have black rims. That may be to much black.

It's good to get things from the direct source if you save a lot, if there is not a big savings, get it from the companies that really support us like iPd and FGP. I really try to purchase from them because they help keep our cars on the road with after market parts and oem parts at a discount (cheeper than the stealers).

I just ordered the Forever Black and will do my dark blue Volvo (it also has tinted windows). I'll post pictures, when I dye the bumpers and the trim.

JimKW, your R inspired me to do my bumpers too! I have the 850 TLA Platinum and faded grey(ish) bumpers on a white car look awful! I just received my Showroom New Grey Bumper Dye from IPD and I was wondering...

How long does it take to dry completely? I was going to dye the trim this Saturday or Sunday, but I need to drive my car Sunday night. The bottle directions say to just let it dry completely, but I'm not sure how long that really is. I've been wanting to take some nice pictures of my car, but right now I've had to disguise the bumpers with grass and such! (See picture to know what I'm talking about )

That looks really good!!!

I tried "back to black" on my old 850 a few years back.... and it went back to grey in about 3 weeks...

Let us know how this stuff holds up.

Back to Black is some conditioner like Armor All or something. The good stuff, dye, is call Forever Black. I used it on ALL of my T-5R trim and I could not be happier. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

How much of this "Showroom New" does it take to do everything? I see they sell them in 4 oz. bottles.

Default Showroom New -- to restore faded bumpers

The "Showroom new" bottle does not state how much coverage. I remember someone stated it would refinish two cars. I applied it on four doorhandles , the front an rear bumpers. I used about a quarter of the bottle. I could leave it as it is, but I am going to go back and apply a second coating. I estimate one bottle should easily refinish the rubber on two 1995 Volvo GLTs.

+1 for NCdad. I did two coats all around with a bottle of Showroom new and I still have about 1/2 left. I applied them about two or three months ago with a tire-detailing sponge and it worked great and wasn't streaky. The results still look new!
