rides like a tractor
I just recently replaced new front struts and rear shocks on my 850 platinum. with new spring seats. there were no bump stops were missing so put everything back together without them. But my car still rides like a tractor. I can feel every little bump at low speeds and at high freeway speeds it raddles my entire from compartment. What could be the problem. I used OEM Sach struts and rear shocks. I checked the bushings on the control arms and they seem to look okay but not an expert. any help appreciated.
I wonder if now that you have new shocks, if the vibration is coming from the other parts of your suspension that are old. It's like the domino effect, your suspension is aging all at the same time, so if you replace the shocks,struts,etc.. Then the other bushings are old, and now that the shocks are stiff, the rest is now shaking! Just a theory to diagnose. Also check your tire balance to see if that is also the culprit.
I bought Volan 17 inch rims that have 205/50/R17 Goodyear tires. The tires are a little stiffer than my last tires. One of the tires is shot, so was considering buying two new tires for the front. What tires do you guys suggest for 17 inch rims.
ok, that's part of your issue. I Just put on Volans on my 850 and I imediately noticed more road vibrstion in my steering column and car. I went from a thicker tire to a 45 series. Since your side wall is smaller, it allows more vibration to come thru... That's just part of having a bigger wheel. I have Yokohama Avus 215/45/17's on my Volans.
