Default Roof Rack for 1997 850 wagon

I'm looking to swap out my roof rack bars for the flat mouldings that snap into the roof channels. Anyone got a source for them? I've yet to see a wagon around my area without a roof rack, but the stealership want over $200 each, so I know they are avaialble.

any suggestions?

TIA
LF

Buy the new ones from the dealer. They will last a good long time and no one else makes them. If you try to refinish the old ones they may not last long and will be a pain to refinish.

LOL! thanks. It's kinda hard to pay as much for two trim parts as I did for the whole car.

I'm in central georgia, about 80 miles south of ATL. Willing to drive a reasonable distance if you are close though.

That is why it's nice to have members put a location in on their home page. It pops up in the upper right of the post and someone close might be more helpful hands on or you might make a sale or trade easier if they know they are close.

Just a thought.

Hey Lizella I may be interested in trading you. I cannot stand the moulding on my car they are silver while everything else is black. My only question is what is the purpose of the molding in the first place, stictly decorative?

Default Wagon Rack

Mike, get with me this weekend and we can take a look at each car to see if the swap is possible.

The swap is possible, and it actually quite common..
A couple owners have actually put the wagon rails on a sedan, it looks good..

If yours are peeling its a simple fix also, you just peel the rest of the black coating off and spray them with plasti-dip. Ive done it on many ocasions and it last pretty well and is cheap.
The ones on my sedan are holding up so far for 3 years in the hot miami sun..
