Default rook leak :(

The headliner on the passenger side gets soaked when it rains. It usually takes a day or two to saturate. I blew out the drain lines and they were fine and intact. Is there anywhere else the roof could have a leak that would cause this? The only thing I can think of is that the seal between the sunroof mechanism and the inner ceiling might have failed? Any ideas? I want to drive it off a cliff right now

Cheers

You might have to pull the headliner down around the edge of the sunroof opening so you can see the under side of the roof. then run water from a garden hose over the sunroof area to see, if and where it is dripping. If you see a sign of water entry it doesn't mean that is where the leak is, the water can travel as it enters. Try doing a localized area, like the front right corner, park the car on an incline down and to the right so the water runs in that direction and not back or to the left, give it some time. then move the car so it inclined up and to the right and run water over that section. Sometimes they are hard to locate.

Tht usually means the seal on the glass is bad. The water runs around the seal then drips inside of the tub area of where the drains are. Both of my cars have the problem as well. But the leak is really minor so I have not fixed them yet.

Did you pull the A-pillar panels and make sure the drain hose did not come off?
Where exactly did you seal?

i checked the hoses and blew them out. I sealed it up temporarily with some awesome new 3m transparent 6X stronger outdoor duct tape and it is still totally sealed. this is what leads me to believe its coming from somewhere else. any ideas? This is driving me nuts.

Did you seal just the glass or between the glass and the roof?

I don't think it's possible to seal a leak with any kind of tape. The prep-work would have to be near perfect. You should try some kind of sealant. I fixed my 960 sunroof leak with black silicone sealant. Here is the link to that post: https://volvoforums.com/forum/showpo...1&postcount=19

Besides that, I have a 850 sunroof with a good seal on it if anyone needs it. I would sell it for $65 plus shipping.

I didn't want to permanently seal it shut, I just wanted to see if it would slow it down which it didn't seem to do. That makes me think it could be coming from somewhere else. The truck is always wet too. It's full of condensation just the the roof.... I may seal between the glass and the seal to see what that does... It's really pissing me off as the car only has 169,000 KMS and it's falling apart
