Default rpm dropping?

so i was getting on the freeway today and decided to floor it i was in 3rd gear at about 4k the rpm didnt go up for about a second or 2 then started increasing like normal
then i did it again in 4th and at about 4k the rpm kind of dropped to 3 and a half or so then went up again
what can be the problem?
i have a 97 850r with manual trans swap

The hoses collapse because they are under vacuum, not boost. Consider all causes of this including turbo not working properly, and wastegate open when it shouldn't be (I found actuator disconnected from mine.).

how do i find out if the actuator is disconected

I would just replace the hose and see if that does it for you.

Look at it. It's a rod about 5 inches long, attaching to the wastegate lever arm at one end and a vacuum actuator on the other. A flashlight and mirror should improve visibility.

So there is another reason you're not building boost in the hoses. Pull off the turbo intake hose to see if the turbo spins freely.

fixed the problem today after i replaced a thermostat and was just looking over everything in the car i noticed that the vacuum line that goes from under the intake manifold and connects to the tree that's next to the air idle control i found that that line had a huge crack in it so i replaced that and the car runs just fine now
