S60R 6 speed swap into 850?
I am looking into putting a manual transmission into my T5R, This may sound borderline insane but has anyone ever looked into retrofitting a Volvo S60R 6 speed transmission into an 850. Im not looking to use the AWD output on it just use it like a FWD 6 speed in an 850.
Ughh! thats so good to hear, I thought it would have been a little too off the wall for most volvo owners, Ill check it out :
One more thing what about cost effectiveness? would the performance gains of the 6speed in my R be more cost effective in relation to the cost of using a 5speed?

cost effectiveness of the performance gains? lol. Now there's two words that you don't hear together in the same sentence very often. You'll be doing a lot more work swapping in the M66 because it's not a direct swap like the M56 and will cost you a lot more. Especially getting the transmission. You're looking at a 5 year old transmission compared to a 15 year old transmission, and unless you have an extremely built up 850, I don't know what the gains would be of the M66 besides the fun factor.
Yeah it would be fun and pretty cool lol, I guess if I can come across one its worth a shot. One more thing I forgot to ask was if anybody thinks that the fuel efficiency will increase with the extra gear? I have been getting around 25-28 highway with my 850R which is about the same as the S60R, just not sure wether the gearbox will make a difference.
Well I did a little more research on the trans differences and it turns out that the final gear in the 6 speed is the same as the 5 speed so that would explain the similar fuel efficiency ratings between the two cars, I guess the 6 speed is just one more gear to shift
