SAS delete.
96 850 GLT N/A. CEL P0410. I've been reading about the SAS Delete. Removing ECU and crossing PIN 32 and PIN 37 with diode to bypass seconday air pump. Has anyone tried this in this forum? If so will it work on my year car? I dont know if I have the 4.4 or 4.3 Motronic. Any help would be great!

Crossing pins on the ECU is something I wouldn't do, unless your installation is 100% safe to avoid shorting with other pins.
I believe your motor is equipped with Bosch Jetronic Series ECU; Motronic 4.3 & 4.4 are equipped on the turbo models.
I'm sorry that I couldn't find P410 in the factory manual, so please wait until other experts chime in.

JPN thanks, I meant to type p0410, secondary air injection system. This is strictly emissions no effect on performance. I bypassed it this afternoon and cel is off for now but for how long I don't know. I have read threads on this that swear this delete works but I could'nt find if it applied to all 96 850's. Any other info would be helpful. Thanks !

Ibified, thanks for the input! I live in SW Florida no checks here. I found the info on Volvospeed. The SAS DELETE not only clears CEL but also passes emissions testing. I checked into replacing motor. Very expensive. You can also convert a VW blower but is also costly. The diodes were $1.28 for a 2 pack at radio shack. It took all of 15 min. for the bypass on ECU pins A32 and A37. Time will tell. Anyone else with any comments on the SAS DELETE please chime in, code P0410 happens to come up alot in Volvo forums just wondering if owners are replacing motors and or parts for this often recurring repair? Thanks!
