Sell or keep T-5R in family?
I own a beautiful low mileage 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R Cream Yellow sedan which could be placed on the dealership showroom floor as a demo.
The purpose for this post is get to feedback from the community on selling the T-5R or giving it to my son. My son is graduating from college next week. He loves the T-5R but is not a car person. A car to him is purely for transportation (I taught him well). If I sell the T-5R, I would purchase him a 2008 or 2009 C30.
I'm really torn on what I should do. I have a collection of desired cars and I continue to select the T-5R as the car I drive to work. I know my son would take care of any car I give him but it would not get the love it currently receives.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated

Personally, my recommendation would be to get him something newer and more reliable and keep or sell your T5-R. While being great, fun to drive cars, these old 850's tend to require a lot of maintenance and if your son is not a car guy, then he will either be paying expensive bills for repairs or looking to you for the work.
We just replaced my son's 97 850 GLT with a new Elantra so he would have something reliable and under warranty for many years to come. I was personally tired of working on his 850. He chose to keep his Volvo, so now any problems are solely his to figure out.
Also, if your son is not a car guy, he will probably not baby the car like you do and you may not be happy to see its condition decline. No need to add any unnecessary potential argument points to your relationship.
You may not get a whole lot out of selling it, so if you still enjoy it as much as you indicate, it might be better to keep it and stretch things a little to get him something else. If it would truly put you into hardship, sell it. Even if the next owner doesn't treat it as well as you do, you won't be as aware of that as you would be if you gave it to your son.
Just my 2 cents.
