Default Selling my 96 volvo 850, is this a fair price?

Hey everyone, sadly I have to sell my volvo 850T since I can't afford to keep it anymore. I've posted here a few times before with a lot of luck from a handful of helpful people. I was wondering if someone can fairly appraise it. I posted it on CL with not much luck. Poor thing got into an accident a while back and I don't have enough money to paint the door, fix the breaks, ect. so it has to go.

Heres the link:

I figured 2k would be fair all things considered but I honestly only expect to get like 1.5k lol. A few people offered me 1k but I shot them down. No way in hell will i sell my Vo for a thousand bucks...

Doesn't sound or look bad. Those are some really low miles.

Kelly's Bluebook says:

Kelley Blue Book

Range: $4351-$5301 (based on 70,000 miles on the odo)

If it were not for the driver's side door, you're selling it as a steal.

Good luck,

JPN

Timing belt last changed? It's not due till 70,000 miles. Since the ODO is stuck at 62,000 it will never need changing.

It's a 17 year old car with a busted odometer and a redneck paint job.

Your car is worth $1,000. If it's worth more than that to you you should keep it, which you are apparently.

Agreed on how much you'd get for it. I almost traded in my 1995 850 the other week with no accidents, and $1000 was all I would have got for the trade in.

I changed my mind last minute as the ruddy car has decided to behave itself before that last minute decision, and has been very reliable lately, so I love this car again and no longer want to get rid. I also located another volvo mechanic locally (also mentioned on this forum) who only fixes volvos and knows them inside out, so he's my new mechanic and reassured me it's not that expensive to fix and service ongoing and they are VERY reliable cars (he gave me some quotes as examples which I found reasonable not expensive). I chose to keep it and maintain it via him, over throwing away 7K over 5 yrs (for a newer not necessarily better car). I think it's key to find a mechanic who knows these cars well if it's not yourself fixing it, I couldn't fix (service) it ongoing like some of you can so that's my option (unless it's an oil change and filter and air filter and spark plugs which I could do, but will still let the mechanic do that to save my lack of time).

See it you can get $1200 for it from the people offering $1,000. I doubt you will get much more than that unless you find somebody who knows these cars and wants one, and I'm not sure even one of us would give you what you're asking.

We sold my sons 96 850GLT no turbo last spring for $2200. 144K miles, good paint, normal cracking of leather seats, sagging roof liner. Mechanically is was sound, used no oil and ran fine.
