Default Show me your 4 Lug wheels

I have the 93 850 GLT with the 4 lug wheels and the surprised looking headlights. I like the front clip, but not a fan of the stock 6 spoke rims. If I can I would like to swap them out for 16", mayby 17" (Not a huge fan of big rims). I have heard that OEM rims are slim pickings. S40/v40 rims fit and all the research Ive done tells me that Ford Rims (Focus/Contour/Fiesta) will fit possible needing a spacer. Also Ford fox body mustang rims also might fit, not sure about the offset. There are enough parts and parts cars around that I may be able to to a wheel hub swap pretty cheap. But that won't be for a while.

So what I want to see is pictures of your wheels or rims on 93's. Tell me what fits, what you had to do to fit, and give me some ideas. I'm thinking of painting some wheels gold/bronze color to go with my red car.

Show me the wheels!

not sure if the S40s fit - pretty sure they are 4x114.3s where the 93 850s are 4x108. Other cars with 4x108s are mostly 80s vintage (I had an Audi 4000Q with 4x108s, 88-92 Mustangs and other small "Euro" Fords, some odd Mazdas and Hondas as well). The key for fitting other wheels will be to make sure the center bore is correct. Volvos use a 65.1 center bore - so any wheels you buy need to be equal or larger (ie wheels from an Audi 4000 have a 57.1 center bore - so the bolts match but you won't be able to drop on the hub). There's enough after market rims available with 4 bolt patterns so that'd probably be your best route - short of buying a donor car and swapping out the strut assemblies and rear hubs from a 95-97 donor for a 4 to 5 bolt conversion...

No S40's don't... It was a shame as there was a set that was nice looking for sale. I did some research and Saab wheels will fit, but would need a hub-centric inner ring to fit the center bore. Saab wheels don't look right on our cars anyway.

I found that Ford and mustang rims are exact fit except for the center bore which is a 63.4 for the Ford Focus/Contour rims and 64.1 for Mustang rims. My Volvo's center bore is 65.1. I have found a guy at a speed shop in town who will drill out the bore for next to nothing. Talking to him he said check it out to see if the parts will fit the way they are. I also had the idea of getting a spacer for Focus/Mustang rims and drilling the spacer to fit mine so I'm not potentially damaging the rims.

The reason for this is Focus rims are plentiful in my area and I think are pretty good looking, in 15/16/17/18 inch. Most of them come with tires for the price of used tires only. Well worth the trouble. If I find a way to do this I will post my findings on a new post.
