Side mirror glass removal
In the manual that I downloaded online, it says "Grip behind mirror glass with fingers and pull straight out" to remove. Does this mean I just pull on the glass mirror to remove it? One one side the glass is loose, and I want to take it out to see what is going on inside to see if I can fix it up.

There are four clips on it (4 corners) and when you put ti in, these clips snap around the inner housing/circle.
It's kind of a PITA to get out. I did one because some idiot smashed my mirror for some reason and I got a new one. However, I just pryed because I didn't care about that mirror. I really want to take my mirror apart to see if I can take a look at the motor though.
The guy who smashed it made everything loose so now I can't adjust my mirror automatically, and it doesn't stay putl...

^Technically it should be able to be pulled off.
The first time, I just pryed it because I didn't care. But I tried prying the new one, and I was starting to crack the mirror (the rubber seal was cracking a little) so I stopped.
Visualize this.
There is a circle and inside it is a square which fills the circle completely. The 4 clips would be located at the square's edges.
It's goign to be hard to get your hands in there and pry because the mirror is really stiff. When I did mine, it was loose as hell and would move left and right w/ a slight push.

There's the 4 clips on the back. Really, my main concern would be to make sure that the mirror itself doesn't break/crack as you apply pressure.
The heating unit is easy. It's two open metal clips that are pretty easy to remove/put in to make the connection.
Once you get the mirror off, then everything else is very very easy.

I didn't know that the hell was getting loose.....[8D].
It would give you a peace of mind to have a spare mirror from a junkyard...
When you try taking it off, see if you can wiggle it as you pull, to see if it loosens little by little. Also, try using plastic tool and exert pressure as close to the centre as possible to avoid flexing the mirror.
I hate it when some idiot smashes my mirror for whatever the reason. Wait, it could have been a gal who thought it was the mirror that made her face look distorted, while in reality it was......
