smoke
Ihave a '97 850 glt 2.4 turbo.I just put a new turbo on now whenI am driving and let off the gas and get back on the throttleI get a puff of blue smoke. It dosen't smoke at idle or at speed just when you let off the gas and back on again. Can anyone help?
Somehow oil is still burning in the combustion chamber. It is probably from the turbocharger or from the cylinder(s). See what Moderator Tech has to say on this. Any external oil leak?

The old turbocharger locked up due to:
- Oil starvation due to low oil or neglected oil change.
- Lack of cool-down idle after a prolonged freeway run in a hot climate.
- Lack of coolant supply (unusual, unless the coolant level is low).
Oil leak at the bottom of the oil return line is a known problem and it should not cause smoke from the tail pipe. Have the seal ring replaced. If the leak is from the oil supply to the turbocharger, have the problem corrected. Pics would be a great help.
I recommend using synthetic oil for turbocharged engines.
