After replacing the A/C with some R12, not R134 I was on my way home from a city 150 kilometers from my city. Half way home the front vent started to release some smoke. This was only happening on the number 1 setting. I tried to make it happen using the higher settings but no smoke would come out. I then turned the A/C on low and again smoke statrted coming out of the main front vent. As you could imagine I simply shut off the whole system and when I got back to my house I started doing the same tests as on the highway and couldn't make the systen smoke again!

Any ideals what this could have been?

I drove to and from work today and still no smoke!

Knowledge is power and that takes time.

Before you go doing something that is going to cost you a lot of money, when trying to save, post your questions here and I know that you will find valuable info and how to's that are going to help.

Check your owners manual and never presume that something is ok to do because someone else did it and had no problems. That's usually a fib as they NEVER tell you all the before and after crap that usually follows.
