Default Speaker wiring

The whole rear channel does not work in my sedan. I'm wondering if anybody could tell me where the speaker wires run in these cars....? I've heard the rear speakers cut in a couple of times, but they mostly don't work. Do the head units go bad on these cars? Or is there something else I should check? Thanks for any help, Joe

Check for continuity of the speaker wiring between the unit and the speakers.

Swap a working unit in to check the unit. (Or borrow one from another Volvo.)

Check all the speakers. The rear speakers run in parallel, so if the rear door speaker goes bad, the rear deck speaker will not work. Check connections at the speakers, and all check the magnets. The adhesive can go bad and if the magnet is not in place the speaker won't work.

Thanks guys. I will check those things. What makes me think it's the head unit though is that none of the rear speakers work, just the fronts. I just replaced the heater blower motor and found the tweeter magnet on the knee bolster Checked the other side and sure enough that one was wedged in the corner!! LOL These forums are so usefull for stuff like this....someone has already been there and done that!!

I would check the rear magnets. Mine wasn't working and I was thinking it was the harness because my stereo was stolen prior, but when I took out the rear deck speaker, the magnet was laying on the speaker, glued it back on, and it sounded like new.
