Speedometer problem

On a '96 there is no vehicle speed sensor per se. The vehicle speed signal is an integrated signal from all 4 wheel sensors through the ABS module. Most speedometer related problems are a result of a bad ABS module but yours is the first one that has your symptoms that I have heard of.
Does the car have any other problems such as an ABS or TRACS warning or a transmission warning light (The flashing up arrow)?
Absent any other issues it may well be a bad instrument cluster.

Speedometer Problem
I don't have any problem on my ABS and TRACS warning light or transmission for that matter. The problem only started when I was on an interstate driving and my speed was a constant 80 mph. The needle suddenly jump, went down to zero and then it started registering again. Thats when I notice on slow traffic, my speedometer won't register unless I drive over 40 mph. I'm not even sure about the accuracy anymore. Thanks for your input.
