Just wonderin if i need a special spray paint to use on the grill or can i just buy a normal one from home depot or sumtin. It only temporary. And will i have to sand the grill down or leave it and spray over the original surface?

Yes take off all the Chrome you see. Then wipe it clean, then spray paint it.

And spray 3-4 thin coats, rather than one thick coat. More layers give you deeper shine & weather protection, as well as preventing drips & sags. If using metallic colour, clear-coating may be a nice touch. Ambient temp significantly affects the result, read the directions on the can carefully.
After the final coat, polishing with plastic polish will give you smoother appearance but do not polish if you decide not to clear-coat it.
Have a nice shine,

Thanks for the information just wondering if normal spray paint is good for this job, from like home depot. I think its krylon but the glossy type? And you said i should remove the chrome paint first with sand paper. What # grit should i use and if i do sand it wont there be many fine streakes showing up after i apply the paint??

Or just paint your grille black but leave the chrome surround like it is and leave the slash as is. Just paint the slats.
