Default SRS light came on yesterday

1994 850 Turbo Wagon. Yesterday the SRS light came on and stayed on. What's the recommended course of action other than just taking it to the dealer and saying "fix it". I want to be sure the air bag system is working and of course want to spend less $ rather than more. I'm able to check the codes myself (manually), but am otherwise dangerous with tools in my hands.

Have them clear the codes and to be honest I doubt you will have to replace your airbags. Because it will cost about $5,000 to do so.

Well, another problem surfaced which is that the red light doesn't blink any codes at all. The red light does work when I ground the probe. It's been suggested that I spray electrical contact cleaner under the push button, and I'll get some of that this week and give it a try. Of course I'm open to other ideas...
