Starting Issues
I have a 1996 Volvo 850 Turbo. It ran just fine until today. The car will crank but wont start.
I started smelling gas in the car for a couple of minutes and then later realized that the engine was revving at about 4,000 rpm for no reason. I felt a slight pull at first but I thought it was something else. I then put the car in neutral and it was just revving at a steady >4,000 so I shut it off. Sadly it wouldn't start again. It'll crank but wont turn over. Could it be that the the throttle is stuck? Or maybe an idle sensor issue? I just wanted to get an idea of what the problem is before I got it towed to the shop.
