Suspension HELP ASAP!
okay well apperently Im hearing noises on my car fron left suspension like a clunk sound and or if somthings lose. Also i have a picture that shows me moving something and im sure its not supposed to do that. I need help asap before I do anything and not know what im spending my money on.
Definately not the MC. Probably the spring seat like tech said...or could it just be loose? Not sure. Either way it'd be a good idea to replace them. It's pretty easy if you can turn a wrench...much cheaper, too.
Edit: Could it be the the front strut mount? Do those things actually go bad? Hm. It's definately one of those two things. The spring seats are ~$20 from FCPGroton and the strut mounts are closer to $80. The strut mount would be easier to replace, but the spring seat would require the disassembly of the spring/shock unit to get to.

That's your brake master cylinder. I'm not sure if it's supposed to move like that, but it's definitely not the source of your clunking sound.

It's actually a bodgy spring seat at the top of the suspension strut and ityou shouldn't be able tomove it aroundat all.
As others have said, most likely the noise is coming from retiring spring seats, as they are known to go bad after many miles.
The top cap in your pic shouldn'tturn like that. The piston nut may have gotten loose or something in there has deteriorated.
When I do the front sus, I usually replace all components except the sway bar, rubber dust boots and the fitting (cross-shaped nut); unless they are shot. I do this at about every 100,000miles (160,000kms) or 8-10 years.

It is very prone to go bad. When you get a replacement, make sure it is OEM.
