I am considering swapping my trunk lid for one with a wing. Is this a difficult job and what about changing the locking mechanism? Is this hard to do?Also will thefront air dam from a T-5 fit my 97 GLT? Thanks.

 

1. Why noy just swap the spoiler?

2. Are you talking about a T5-R bumper or an R bumper? Because the normal T5 and GLT bumpers are the same.
But if you are talking about a T5-R bumper yes it will work.

 

That was my initial plan to install a used wing or even a new one (which would have to be painted). I visited a junk yard and can get the trunk and wing for 100 clams.I figure sinceeverything is painted just plug and play. My guess is that there is drilling involved with installing just a wing and I am notorious for screwing up stuff.

 

The lids should swap over fine. I would think though that just installing the wing would be easier.

 

You can do which ever way you want the trunk spoiler just clamps on and has tape holding it on.
