I purchased my T-5R with 78,000 miles on it a few months ago (end of April). Now I have 97,000 miles on it (had it parked for 3 months). It seems that it is consuming about 1/2 quart of oil every 1,000 miles. Is this normal?

I replaced the PCV system about 5,000 miles ago if that matters.
I'm using 10W-30 Castrol Oil Synthetic.
I live in the south, temps between 20 and 105 degrees.
Oil is changed every 3,000 to 4,000 miles.

 

Not normal, are you blowing smoke out the back on boost? Possible the turbo oil seals have worn.

 

Not that I'm aware of. I guess I should look in the mirror when I'm punch it next time???

 

Sometimes its best to have a friend follow you. Tough to see the smoke as it gets dispursed so fast. You will have some from fuel but get a good idea of what is considered a small amount and a lot,

 

Are you sure it's burning it? Could it be leaking?

 

Can't spot any leaks. That's a lot of oil in 2 months.
