I did mine, not sure if I like it. I guess its better than broken.
Suggestion I would offer, when you mount the metal tabs on the panel go to a hardware store and get some door/window insulation, maybe a 1/8 thick. Put it on the surface where the panel will touch the gate to eliminate rattles. Also, the trim that runs up the sides of the window on each side, if you look you will see where it touches the gate, put some there too.

You may want to hold off on the glue - you'll probably have to open it up to fix the wiper motor, replace the bulbs, or in my case; so you can remove your key from the jacked-up locking mechanism!
There's a post I read a long time ago from someone using silicone to seal it up. That seems to be a better route because it's easier to cut if you need to open it up again. I plan on searching for that thread in a few weeks to do that very thing.
