Default Teck-help w/ rear brakes needed.

Just ordered rear pads and rotors (from Eeuroparts) -last time I got the pads they came w/ 2 types of the shims -- non-coated shiny ones and another set of black coated shims.
First, I used only the shiny non-coated shims, and the car made some little noise.
I later inserted the coated onesand it has not made any noise since then.
QUESTION -which ones go towards the pad, and which ones to the caliper side?

Thanks

I spray the shims with brake anti squeal.............both sides and no noise. The teflon coated shims are the latest iteration and have a coating (teflon) to keep them from squealing. Your choice.

The rubbery feeling one goes on the back of the pad. The shiny one goes to the caliper.
Install either a Antisqueel or Anti seize or a silicon based grease.

Default Tech, Reg -Thanks

Changed rear brakes -not only brakes feel "stronger", also no more vibration I was blaming on front brakes.
