Exclamation help on rear brakes on a 98 v70?

I just brought a '98 volvo v70 about a month ago and I did the front brakes about a week ago and now I'm doing the rear brakes, I've noticed that there are 2 pistons on the caliper, one on each side. Normally with the piston(s) on one side you can take the old pad and use the tool to push it (them) back in. How do you do when the pistons are on opposite sides of each other? I've come to the conclusion of just using some channel locks but not entirely sure if that will work or not. Won't be doing the brakes for a few days yet so I have a few days to gather ideas or find the proper way of doing this. Any help appreciated!!
