Exclamation Was there ever a green T-5R Wagon???

This person on eBay claims to have a Green 850 T-5R wagon for sale. I thought they only made Yellow & Black T-5R cars for the US in 1995. Can this be real? It has a T-5R vin...

Wow! Looked at the photo bucket and it looks to be true. This may be one of the rarest cars in the US. I bet they sold less than 10 this color. I thought we only had black & yellow T-5R's???

My understanding is that they did actually make the T5R in green, but none were imported to the USA. Someoby could have bought it overseas and brought in though. 300+K on the odometer before it broke would probably keep me away from it unless it was really cheap, not at $3800.

euro-land T5-R... I'd want to run the vin, find out the real mileage, or wouldn't that be kilometers??

and where are the rims that belong on it if its a T5-R... maybe i just didn't read that much...

I'm sceptically....

58 in the 6th and 7th position of the vin says it is a T5R.

Yep, the US got Green T5-R's however, from what I've read, there were less then 10 brought to the US.

The OEM Titans probably were damaged long ago. From everything I've heard about them, there really soft wheels.

Have them snap a picture of the sticker on the timing belt cover. If it has a 5 at the end its the real deal. Unless they swapped the motor like I did :-)

Man, I looked at all of the pics on eBay & the photo bucket. I'd say it's real. The seller even has a picture of the original invoice that states the it was sold without the Titants. The original purchaser decided to buy it without them, they wanted steel wheels with snow tires on it.

That makes the GREEN T-5R one of the rarest cars ever sold in the us. That color that is. The seller says it has 350,000 miles on it, claims he check the OBD-I port to get the reading.

My thoughts is it's the rarest $1,500 daily driver on the road. I would buy it if it were not for the rust.

The t-belt cover does have a 5 on the end.

Ok, I guess I'm over the fascination of the Green T-5R. Main reason being, Volvo sold a lot of Green 850 wagons. That would make the green color almost common. It's still a very rare car but most people could not tell without serious detailed knowledge. I'm still going to hold out for a yellow wagon.

Still think the car may be worth $1,500 tops. $800 Would be a good price to pay. NADAGuides.com says $1,450 is a rough trade in price. I think that's a little high. They show $4,775 as retail. Wow!

The yellow wagons will keep getting harder and harder to come by. In nine more years the true T5R's will be antiques. Isn't 25 years still classified antiques in cars? I know that was the case years ago and a 25 year old car was OLD.

Yes 25 years is the magic number. My concern is that parts will be harder and harder to come by and soner than later we will be forced to purchase newer cars. In the mean time, i'm ging to enjoy what I have. I may even try to calculate what parts will be hard to come by and purchase them and store them. Like evaporator or heater coil, stuff like that. Those parts appear to be time change items.

Just the other day I went to the stealer to order an exhaust support bracket bolt and they told me that Volvo no longer sells them. What kind of stuff is that. There are thousands of S70's on the road. I happen to have some 960 hood hinge bolts on hand that fit the hole so I installed that. It was about 1/8" short but I don't think that will matter. Enough threads fit the bolt hole. That sucks!!!

Well, I made the guy an offer on the Green T-5R. He came back at me with almost twice what I offered. I told him to call me when he is ready to take my price. We'll see what happens.

why has it got full leather like the cd cars as did'nt t5r's have suede and leather i know they did in the uk?
also that front bumper is missing the r lip looks more like a t5 front end so i would'nt buy it looks a bit too dodgy if you ask me plus that green is what i nearly bought but i bought a blue one instead and so glad i did as don't like the green colour in the flesh.

Well, it does have the T-5R seats, leather/suede combo.

Other than that, I got a call from the guy last night. He made me a good offer so I'm considering buying it. What do you guys think about me getting the car and restoring it???

You should get the car... restore it... and keep it green... then you have to buy a black one and have the trifecta.

I wanted it just for the vin. Maybe next time. That's all the guy has. He will put more than $4,000 in it just to bring it up to par. No ac, rust, stock wheels, damaged interior, damaged exterior, not to mention over 350,000. $800 Was to much.

Well, went and checked out the guy's post in ss. He said it looks better than the photos. Being local, sounds like he got a good deal. I would have had to fly me & wife to go get it, that would have increased my outlay on it to much for what I wanted to do with it. Sounds like the new owner loves it already.
