Default Timing Belt Question

I have a Goodyear Gatorback 148 Tooth belt that i bought for my 95 850 Turbowagon. Part no. 40252. I just want to be sure this is the correct timing belt for my wagon. It says after engine# 131155.
Engines below 131154 were a 143 tooth.

does your front timing belt cover still have the engine serial sticker on it?

Mine was made in Jan of 94, and has the belt for the higher serial #. My eng is out, and on the hoist waiting to go back in. I will go look for another location for the #, I saw several stampings on the motor just don't remember which is which.

Look behind the #1 cyl on the firewall side of eng. It is stamped into the block on top of the water pump I think. Look between the exhaust mani heatshield and rear timing belt cover, under the coolant pipe that bolts to the head.

My 850 was made in April 94 and has the larger belt too. Engine No something like 262xxx...

It's surprising how many engines they must have built in just a few months, to go from 131xxx to 260xxx.

The other thing you can do is call you local volvo stealer and ask them if they will cross-refference the VIN #, and get the eng searl # that came with the car. I did this using the parts dept, and not the service people. I am not sure if I or someone else can, buy using their VADIS.

sense we are talking about timing belts i put a new one in and car runs a little rougher then before at idle. Car runs great when getting on a freeway. does not miss a beat any ideas do i need to adjust something.
It also when i first drove it would die when giving gas and then turned it off and sarted it again ran great i dont know if that had any thing to do with it
