Timing belt replacement - what parts?
I'm going to have the timing belt replaced soon and was told that I should do the water pump at the same time since they are under the same cover.......Should this be done and what other components should be replaced while I'm in there....belt tensioner, rail, damper, idler pulley?????????

RE: Timing belt replacement - what parts?
The following items come in one package as a kit (OEM: Continental Tech; German):
- Timing belt.
- Idler pulley
- Tensioner pulley
I would also consider replacing the hydraulic tensioner, if it is the 2nd or more belt replacement.
As RedTurbo850 has noted, water pumps on the 850s rarely fail. Mine actually had a minor leak so I did mine. I used German aftermarketpump called HEPU (comes with new gasket & bolts with sealant already applied to their threads), but if you plan to keep your 850 forever, spend a little extra on a genuine Volvo pump. Otherwise, leave it alone.
