Tire question
Hey all - looking to replace the tires on my 17" Volans - I was wondering what size tire everyone who has them runs on them. I currently have 225/45/17s on them, which I know are way too big, but I got the set for 40 bucks and they had about 100 miles on them at the time.
Also, what tire are you running? I am just curious what everyone has and what their opinions are on them. These will be on my car in the summer only, so I don't care about al season traction.
Thanks!

I'm running 205/45-17 Toyo Proxes on my 97 850 R wagon. They are a ZR tire.I have a set of 'winter' wheels and tires, which are a set of 16 inch Volvo alloys, but I don't recall what tire is on them, and my storage is a little too far from home for me to go and just look.
I'll be interested to see what recommendations you get. I'd like to have my Volans refurbished, or might just buy a new set since the new ones don't seem to be too expensive.
Plan to get 5 Volans and 5 tires at the time - my spare wheel is kinda curb'd up in a few spots, and it's one of the original Pirellis that came on the car - so I worry about a 16-17 year old tire, even for 'temporary' use!

The "aspect ratio" of the sidewall height as a percentage of the total width of the tire.
Sorry, I'm off my meds and my OCD is kickin' in
How badly do the 225/45/17s rub and is yours lowered ??

To make it valuable it would be good to know what size tires you are running or what sizes you have tried and then if you are lowered, stock or aftermarket wheel and it's offset, if you are running spacers (how big) and if it rubs, how much it rubs. Has anyone had to do anything with speedometer calibration and if so what or how ??
Very handy calculator for getting a fatter tire without screwing up your speedometer
Tire Size Calculator - Tire & Wheel Plus Sizing
I'm on stock 16 wheels and stock tires
205/45R17 Johnwartr___Stock_____no rubbing - (This is the stock recommended replacement size)
215/45R17 Boxpin______lowered
215/40R17 MattyXXL___lowered____no rubbing
225/45R17 ibified______lowered____rubs all the time
This should be a link to a comparison of the above sizes

Never had Hankooks before.
Would like to try a set.
I was interested in the Ventus V2.
We don't get much winter in Indiana. At least, not in my part of the state. Typically, 3-4 snows and that's about it. And we usually take my wife's SUV when it snows, so we have 4wd.
