Default trans fluid flush

I'm going to flush my trans fluid since it looks like mud. Which would be better to use? Amsoil, royal purple, or mobil 1.

Mobil 1 got recalled for some reason..look into that before going that route.

Some say Lucas Oil is the best. I think you will find all different opinions. I just flushed mine yesterday with Valvoline Synth.

Default Trans flush --- or Drain and fill

After reading and hearing some horror stories about 850's not running right after the transmission fluid was changed, I did a lot of searching and reading on this website before I changed mine. It turned out that this seemed to occur when the transmissions were 'flushed' instead of the "drain and fill" method.
My Volvo dealer mechanic told me not to change the fluid at all unless it was burnt. I could not stand not changing the trans fluid, after all my transmission does not have a filter!
I finally made up my mind to do the 'drain and fill' method --three times. It worked like a charm ! I used SUPERTECH Dextron III from Wal-Mart. It costs about $ 12.00.
I recommend you perform a search and read the thread How to change tranny fluid from 4/17/2009.
