Transmission Issue and Taillight Replacement
Hey Everyone,
I have two questions, one about a transmission issue and one about replacing taillights on an 850 wagon.
Would any of you happen to have had any experience with a Solenoid A Malfunction (code: P0750)? Over the holiday, my car went into ''limp home mode" with the up arrow flashing and check engine light on. However, this issue was gone the next day and when I brought it to my mechanic. Further, he said that he couldn't find anything wrong with any of the codes or fluids. Then the other day, my check engine light flashed on again and has stayed lit (leading to me finding the 0750 code).
Do any of you know how much I could expect a repair for the transmission solenoid A to cost? From what I've read, it won't be cheap by any means.
Second, could anyone walk me through how to replace both the upper and lower taillight assembly for my wagon? The lower one was damaged in a parking garage and needs to be replaced to pass a safety inspection. I've removed the speaker, but have no idea how to remove all of the panels to get to the screws for the lower one.
Thanks!

What year is your wagon? On my '95 the corner carpet pieces pull out and then you need a deep socket and small extension. Two bolts.

Mine is a '96. I tried shimmying that rectangular carpet panel out, but it seems to be attached to something else at the bottom. You shouldn't have to remove all of the plastic trim panels in order to get that out, right?
You pull up the floor board, turn the black **** at the bottom of the corner carpeted piece and either reach in there and get the upper nut with a wrench or you'll need to pull out that plastic trim piece between the speaker and the carpeted corner piece you just removed.
Ah! Thanks, that helped a lot. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of the car on this site, though I've been having a lot of issues with file size. Are you guys using any special programs to reduce pixel/file size? My uploads keep failing.
Thanks for the advice and sorry for the late response! Final semester of undergrad and just trying to balance out my classes and research with everything else. I'll try playing with my camera a bit and see if I can finally get some pictures up. The Volvo isn't a looker, but there are some pretty nice backdrops around Oahu.
