Transmissions lights (P-D-R-etc)
How do I turn these on? All my other lights work except for this......
It's strange because it's never worked, but today when I was parking in the garage, it went on all of a sudden......So I don't think it's a blown fuse either.....
I tried to restart the car and it was off again. It's not a big deal, but it's kind of a pain to open the lights to figure out which gear i'm in. This is auto btw.

RE: Transmissions lights (P-D-R-etc)
Hello Mr. RedTurbo850,
Greetings from Chicagoland.
Some interior lights do have problems as you described. In my case, there are 2 bulbs, one for the right side of the tach and the other for the left side of the LCD display (VDO cluster). Luckily, this does not happen all the time and even if it happens, if I give it a light tap on the top of the cluster the lights come back to life.
I would take the center console out (Haynes Manual may be helpful in this particular case), and take out the bulb & bulb holder unit, spray the contacts (especially the female side) with air duster, put some WD-40 on metal contacts (spray it on something like a cotton swab and rub with it to avoid mess) and put them back in to see if it cures the problem. Sometimes you may have to bend metal contact tangs to make them fit tighter.
Good luck,
JPN

I had the same issue. The bulb was burned out. You have to take the center console out to get to the bulb. It is about an hour job to get the console out, change the bulb and put it all back together again.
You can get a replacement bulb and socket at the dealer, or just the bulb at Radio shack. Cost me about $2.50 if I remember tight.
