Default tubrochargers

hi i was wondering what is the best turbo to put on a 850 R 1997 mine is leaking and i was told i needed to replace it please someone help me

I would try and find a used one off of another 850 Turbo. Pretty sure they were all the same from 94-97. They should not be hard to find.

thanks for the info what should one run $ and can they be rebuilt
I was told it was leaking at the main seal, can i just change the gasket

I wonder Jim if they (turbo unit) isn't the same for any of the high pressure turbos manufactured for the 2.3 liter engine??

If you are led to believe that your turbo has a problem...

Does your engine use more than 1/2 quart of oil per thousand miles?

Remove the turbo inlet hose between air filter box and turbo. Do you see oil puddled inside of turbo housing? Firmly pull on turbo compressor wheel. Is there a lot of slop and play in the turbo shaft?

Have your current turbo rebuilt professionally. It shouldn't cost much more than $300. Remember to use a new turbo oil feed line. Shop and Compare, starting with Forced Performance...

i pulled the oil dip stick and there was a white grease all over it any ideas

I was also wondering if it is hard on the engine or if it is going to damage anything else further if i drive the car with a bad turbo
