Default Turbo Heat Shield

I am going to be putting on a new exhaust and was wondering if it's easier to go in from the top or bottom to remove the downpipe? And if it's easier to go in from the top, how do I remove the heat shield? I found that one picture by searching that was black and white and it appeared to show how to remove it, but I'm still kind of unclear after looking at it? Any help would be appreciated as I am going to be doing this by myself, so it will be an adventure. Thank You.

The only main thing I'm worried about would be the bolts holding the DP onto the turbo being so old that they would be hard to get out, or even break.

I tried reaching down there today to spray some WD40 onto the bolts. Are there bolts that screw into the turbo that hold on the DP, or are there threaded bolts that stick out of the turbo and I use nuts to hold on the DP??
