Default Turboing an 850

I know nothing about volvos. Does anyone know what kind of tuning software I will need to run? (can I run megasquirt?) Also are 850s RWD?

You want to turbo a non turbo 850? This is possible, but will cost more then your car is worth. Sell it and buy a turbo model and tune it from there.

Yes you can run megasquirt if you want to and no 850's are FWD and there was a AWD model as well 850.

ok excellent, and thanks for the speedy response. I dont have any volvo right now, just seeing what my options are. Definily want the 850 awd model then. If it is already a turboed 850, can I do MS just as on any other car (i inly know how to run them on VWs)?

You don't want the AWD 850 and you probably wont find it. Just get a FWD 850 that is turboed. Turbo, T5, T5-R and R models are what your looking for. The turbo model might be called GLT too, but some weren't turboed, so be careful on that one.

i want to stay away from FWD. if i am to go with FWD ill just go with a vw gti, but an awd volvo wagon would be very unique around my area. So with the volvo im looking for either RWD or AWD. can you recommend me any other models (donest have to be a wagon) that are awd or rwd and come turboed?

RWD your looking back into the 240 range and I think a s90 was or possibly a 960 model was RWD.

AWD if you have to have it, which is stupid because after 30MPH it becomes FWD only since the AWD disengages. Look into the S60R AWD or V70RAWD (1998 for the V70R AWD).

But your not going to find an 850 AWD. Hard to come by.

Dude....Get a 240 or 740 with a B230FT and start form there. Very easy to work on and very simple to modify. MS and big turbo with supporting apps....300+hp and leave most cars on the road in the dust. Nuf said! For the cost of say a $7000 M3, you could have a nice built 200/700 series, and smoke most of the newer Ms!
