Urgent help with MBC!
I installed my MBC today and my boost gauge in my 850 turbo (94). I have a Hallman Pro MBC, I set it to 0 boost (aka stock setting) and I was getting a reading of 5-6 PSI in all gears. To get to 12 PSI on my gauge, i had to turn the MBC about 6 full turns. Is this normal? Also I fear that my car is running to lean or rich...when I kick the car into full boost 3-4 times (while i was testing it), I smell unburned gas coming out of the exhaust. I can smell the unburned gas in my car with the sunroof open. What does this mean? Could it be my plugs/wires are finished? I havent changed them yet...Im just paranoid of breaking something.
I set my boost to around 10 now so that it should be ok...can anyone help me out?
Thank you very much

I have heard that glowshifts are known to become un-calibrated after some time, and with a digital gauge, you have no way of knowing if it's correctly calibrated or not.
I'm going to install new plugs this week...do i go with Bosch platinum or copper? Also how do i gap spark plugs, what do i measure it with?
As for the gauge, its the only one I have...I'm going to try to get a hand-held pump with a good gauge and see if its calibrated right.
Also, where do I hook up the gauge? Right now I believe its plugged on the vac line of the Compressor or the Wastegate (not sure, gonna check tomorrow)...would this give me an accurate reading? Arent I supposed to see the vacuum and the boost on my gauge? Im only seeing the boost so far...the gauge is made to read from -14.5 Vac to 45 Boost but im only getting a reading from 0 to lets say 12psi (depending on my MBC). Am I supposed to be able to read the vacuum while the car is idleing?
Any ideas on the smell? I think it smells like Sulfur but im not sure...I dont want to blow something if its too lean or rich :S

OEM plugs. You use a spark plug gap tool. If it's supposed to read vac, then you should be getting vac. Don't splice in your boost gauge to any of the lines on the turbo. Either run it from the vac tree, or more simply yet, just use the vac line already in the cabin for your factory boost gauge. And your not running the MBC without a gauge are you?
And if you smell sulfur, could be a worn cat.

Ok I'm going to get my self some Bosch Copper plugs with some new wires. Today I actually re-wired (vacuum) my MBC and Gauge. I also had to unplug my battery in order to do something else (involving the sound system)...the car is running much better now. Doesn't seem to smell anymore either
Maybe the battery disconnect reset the computer and aloud it to reset the air/fuel mixture...idk if thats possible, but it worked for me!
I'll repost once I got the plugs, wires, rotor and distributor cap...im gonna do another reset and test her out. Hopefully all will be well.
Thanks a bunch guys
