Default Vacuum line for boost gauge

I am installing a boost gauge and have read that there is a vacuum tree under the throttle shroud in 98 and newer models with extra lines where I can plug in the vacuum line so I don't have to use the T fitting. Will I find this in my '97 850 T5?

Yes, all 850's have that vacuum tree.

+1 on that. That's where I tapped my boost gauge. If your T5 has a factory gauge on the dash, then it might be easier to tap onto the vaccum line under the dash, it's less work.

Somthngfrce. I like the sound of that. How do I find it?

It's a hard plastic black line. Shouldn't be hard to find. What I would do is just disconnect the boost gauge from the cluster since your installing your own gauge.

Look under the dashboard. Take the cover under the footwell out and look for the vaccum line. take a T and tag on to that line!

That was very easy! Thanks guys, however, based on the description of a hard plastic black line I almost cut the throttle cable that was nearby. Good thing I followed it first.

Now if anyone has a similarly quick fix for the dashboard dimmer switch I'd love to hear it.

Try to find a used or new switch. They commonly go bad.

Sorry Tech, I wasn't clear. I'm plugging in the power line for my boost gauge backlight.

Oh ok I think it is a white wire at the headlight switch. I connected mine a year ago.
