voltage regulator sense pin
Mail ordered a new voltage regulator and started to remove my old one. It seems that they are different. The original one has the extra sense pin whereas the new one doesn't. Do i really need this extra wire and what would happen if I don't attach it. All the vendors say it fits my car but part doesn't match. I guess I should order a new exact fit part or do I???

After reading about it a bit more I think I need the sense line. What it does is it measures the voltage at the battery and regulates it from there. Otherwise the voltage being generated by the alternator would be all over the place depending on the rpms. So will need to re-order another one. Don't think I can make the new one work...

Here is the one I ordered recently and its been fine.

Has the sense line connection and appeared to be well made.
From what I understood the sense line only made the idiot light work. Without it, it'll always be on.
