Default Volvo 850 Aftermarket steering wheel

I want to mount a luisi steering wheel, but I need to trick the srs system that there is an airbag present.

Anybody know how to do this ?

Wouldn't you rather have the airbag?

Look for how to defeat passenger bag. I assume the resistor needed is the same

You measure the resistance of the airbag then create a resistor pack of the same.

are there any low-cost hub/wheels that fit the 850?
Id like a sport wheel (dont care about having an airbag) but Im used to doing that kinda thing on an old honda civic. Thats easy and can cost as little as $50.

Just pull the bulb. The system doesn't effect the cars drive ability and most states exempt these cars from inspections.

You Sir, should not be messing with an airbag system until you learn a little more about them and Ohms, Resistance, impedance, etc. That question has hung you out to dry.

Measuring the resistance of an airbag can set it off, so good luck with that. Airbags are more important than having a "cool" steering wheel in a 15 year old car, in my opinion.

And he is trying to keep you from injuring yourself with an explosive device.

But since Boxpin can't come on your thread I did find that Volvo makes a resistor part #988-8695. Hope that's helpful, don't want to get kicked off too

3) Remove 2 Torx No. 30 screws from rear of steering wheel.
See
Fig. 7
. Pull air bag module away from steering wheel just enough
to disconnect wiring connector. Install SRS (Special Test Resistor)
(988 8695) in place of air bag module to prevent generation of fault
codes. See
Fig. 8
.

Well you're not going to attain more knowledge by being a arrogant *****..
And last I checked, StigAre started this thread, not you; so technically you're the hijacker.

By all means, please disable your airbag, I like to see Darwinism at work..
