volvo 850 rear window/side mirror defrost switch
I was hoping to find out the pinout of the side mirror / rear window defrost switch.
The switch has an indicator LED (I assume is lit when there is power to the heating elements, maybe also back lighting for the icons?
the switch has locations for six pins only five populated.
I was hoping to learn what wires connect to each pin.
thanks

I have a large .pdf file (2.70 MB) of the venicles wiring diagrams that I could send you by e-mail, but either way, here is what the diagram shows for the switch. Pin 1 appears to be a switched control wire. It is a blue/black wire that goes to pin 9 of the "Heated rear window/ Door Mirror Relay" connector. It is open when the switch is off and supplies a ground when the switch is turned on. Pin 2 is a pink wire and it is the power wire for the switch backlighting bulb and it comes from the interior lights rheostat. Pin 3 and 4 are both not used. Pin 5 is a black wire and it is the ground for the switch backlight bulb. It goes thru the Central Electrical Unit and then to the negative battery terminal. Pin 6 is a yellow/red wire. It is the power wire for the orange LED light when the switch is turned on, and also sends power to the "Heated rear window/ Door Mirror Relay" connector pin 4 to power the rear wndow defogger, and also sends power to both mirror heating elements (pin 5 on both mirrors) Basically it looks like pin 6 is the main power wire and pin 5 is the mian ground wire. Hope this helps.

Thank you, this was helpful, I was hoping the switch had the timer built in but looks like I need to also pickup a timer relay. I am adding heated outside mirrors and found this switch but now plan to order the timer relay then should be good.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
