Default Volvo Dummy Lights

So, I had my hood open for about half an hour the other night in the rain trying to fix my windshield wiper arms. After I did that, I took my car for a ride and most of the dummy lights came on and then shut off. I kept driving the car around town and the lights kept coming on and off. Finally, it stopped happening and then I parked my car for the night. The next morning, the car started to do it again, so I assumed it was the alternator. We tested the alternator, which is running low, but the car still drives. I really dont think that it is the alternator though because of the way it all came about. If you have any ideas, please let me know and save me the 260 dollars for a new alternator.

What is the condition of the R/S inner fender(Plastic)?

How much water was on the ground when you were driving around?

The r/s inner fender is in perfect condition. As for the amount of water that was on the road, it was probably about an inch.

The serp. belt might have been slipping from the water.
Alot of times water will splash up and make the belt slip.

Tech is coorect, it sounds like the belt may be slipping. One way to partially solve this is to get a can of spray on belt dressing and carefully spray it on the belt. It should help some.
