Volvo Strut Brace
Hi, just joined the board... Im from a long time volvo family, we have owned them all, but I just got my first VOLVO. Its a 1995 850 and I love it. Ive been looking for a strut tower brace and found several differnt models, just wanted to pick the communitys collective brain as to what is the best one for my needs. Ive checked out the Summit brace and a few on Ebay.. Anybody have any suggestions? I dont want to spend a lot, but I do understand that you get what you pay for... Is it beter to go Alu. or steel? Thanks in advance.

RE: Volvo Strut Brace
I purchased my brace from a Canadian source: www.eurosporttuning.com. The product was A-1. As to whether to use aluminum or steel..............the answer is simple............aluminum. Weight is your enemy. That is the reason many suspension parts are aluminum........indeed, your wheels are aluminum vs the heavy steel. Aftermarket brake calipers are aluminum vs the steel component that is currently on your auto................ and the list goes on.

RE: Volvo Strut Brace
six of one.........................1/2 a dozen of the other.................... It would appear that either one will suffice and you will notice a better handling Volvo. The brace does stiffen things quite a bit. My wifes Mazda even comes with a strut brace from the factory! My Hartge has a brace for the rear suspension also. Enjoy!
