Default warped timing belt cover

My front timing belt cover has gotten warped from eng heat I guess. Anyone had any luck in flattening/straightening one out.

Along the straight edge below the water pump. It bows out towards the wheel well.

Did you take the cover off to see why it warped?

Did you replace the timing belt and/or tensioner recently?

It's only one bolt to take it off; better ck it out and see what's going on in there...

Did you bolt it on to see how bad it will look after being on?

The cover is off and the eng is out of the car. I am rebuilding the eng, and now putting it back together. I could just buy a new one, but would rather keep the right one with the correct stickers on it. With it bolted up it bows out.

Wow!!! Finally Mr. Silkhope posts a pic.

Maybe you can take a heat gun to it and flatten it out

I will have you know Mr. Bobec! In my earlier day's I presented several photo's. Anyway as to your comment about the heat gun, no, I have not. With my luck it will turn out much worse than it already is. Good idea though, I guess, that is about the best I am gonna be able to do. (stand by with the fire extinguisher)

Set it up to bend the other way some for a day or so and see if it fixes itself.

My experience is that all efforts to get it to straighten out will be lost causes. IMO, get a replacement.
